测绘技术在空间信息技术领域应当扮演什么角色?是必须研究的创新课题。
发展空间信息技术离不开地理空间信息,没有地理空间信息的支撑,发展空间技术就会成为“空对空”。而地理空间信息是靠“现代测绘技术”获取和建立的。现代测绘技术不公可以建立、提供各种基础性地理空间信息框架和通用性地理空间信息平台,基与网格技术相结合,还可以使全社会无“死角”和利用地理空间信息,实现实时更新各种地理空间信息,达到建立“数字区域”、“数字国家”、“数字地球”、“数字太空”和虚拟现实、推动空间技术发展的目的。数字正射影像是一种新型数字测绘产品,是有着广阔应用前景的基础地理信息数据。
由此可见,现代测绘技术本身就是学科交叉的结果和新兴的“边缘”学科,在发展空间信息技术方面,具有承上启下的地位和作用。
数字测绘工作过程中,有大量的数据处理与转换工作,栅格数据到矢量数据的转换是其中的一个主要问题,这一问题实际上就是数字化成图过程中的跟踪矢量化过程。
