[摘 要]此文审视香港人对日本与南韩的刻板印象,结果发现香港人认识日本及其人民多于南韩与南韩人。此研究部份证实了『接触』有助形成正面印象的理论。研究发现香港人对日本人的印象比南韩人的为佳,而香港人对日本及日本人有较多亲身接触。不过,亲身接触与正面印象的关系,会受两地之间的历史事件影响。这个研究亦发现传媒是人们印象之重要来源,电视尤其重要,之后便是报章、杂志以及电影。在所有的人际渠道中,朋友及同事是最重要的印象来源。

Abstract: the thesis surveyed the stereotype of Hong Kongers to Japan and South Korea, and found the results that Hong Kongers know much more Japanese and Japan issue than Korean and Korea issue. The research has partially approved the theory that contacting could help the form of positive image. The research found that the image to Japanese is better than to Korean among Hong Kongers and Hong Kongers have more contact with Japanese and Japan. However, the relation between positive image and contact could be affected by the history events between the two regions. The research also discovered that media is the important source of image. TV is the most important with newspaper, magazine and movie in the second position. In all the interpersonal channels, friends and colleagues are the most important image sources.
