摘 要 在对人眼视觉系统(HVS)的研究中,人们发现人眼对不同亮度的信号敏感程度不同。背景亮度较高的区域,人眼对于失真的敏感程度会大大降低。因此,编码器可以利用人眼视觉的这一特性进行改进。本文针对这一特性,对H.264视频编码算法进行了改进,通过调整量化步长(QP),对不同亮度区域进行不同级别的量化,在不影响视频主观质量的情况下提高编码器压缩效率。实验结果表明,采用本改进算法的H.264参考编码器输出码率下降幅度达到10%-20%,而解码视频的主观观测质量同标准H.264编码器相当。

A Improved Coding Method of H.264 Based on
Human Visual Perceptual
Abstract In the study of human visual system (HVS), it was found that the sensitive of human eyes are vary with different luminance signals. The eyes’ sensitivity of distortion will be greatly reduced in the high brightness background region. Therefore, the human visual characteristics can be used in the encoder improvement. In this paper, with this characteristics, the H.264 video coding algorithm was improved by adjusting quantization step (QP) with different luminance, thus improve the coding efficiency of compression with out affect the quality of video subjective circumstances. The experimental results proves that this improved algorithm of the H.264 encoder can reduce the output bit rate by 10% -20% while the subjective observation quality of decoded vidios correspond the standard H.264 encoder.
