摘要
本文介绍了电子支付的发展历程，继而展望了电子支付的未来。电子商务正在带来一场史无前例的革命，电子支付是电子商务活动中最核心，最关键的环节，是电子商务得以进行的基础条件。电子支付作为一种新的支付手段正在悄然兴起。它有多种多样的形式，但其中运用较多的是信用卡和智能卡。本文介绍了信用卡和智能卡在国内，国外的发展情况，由此可明显的看出双方在电子支付领域的差距。之后，结合目前大规模进行的西部开发，阐述了电子商务在西部建设中不可替代的作用，进一步说明了电子支付在西部的发展方向和注意事项，即西部在开发中一定要借鉴东部和国外的成功经验，避免走弯路。真正做到“一卡在手，走遍世界”，也使电子支付走进千家万户不再是梦想。

Abstract
This technical paper introduces the development of electronic payment and prospects the future of electronic payment. E-business brings us an unprecedented technology wave. Electronic payment is one of the most important parts of e-business and the base of it. The primary methods of electronic payment are credit cards and IC cards. Compared to the booming electronic payment in the foreign countries, China has a big job to do. After that , the document highlights the role of e-business in the development of the world. All in all, E is essential for all of us.
