Abstract:
Forming can be defined as a process in which the desired size and shape are ob-tained through the plastic deformations of a material. The stresses induced during the process are greater than the yield strength, but less than the fracture strength, of the material. The type of loading may be tensile, compressive, bending, or shearing, or a combination of these. This is a very economical process as the desired shape, size, and finish can be obtained without any significant loss of material. Moreover, a part of the input energy is fruitfully utilized in improving the strength of the product through strain hardening.

成型可以被定义为一个过程,在这个过程中,所需的尺寸和形状可通过材料的塑性变形获得。在此过程中产生的应力大于屈服强度,但小于材料的断裂强度。该类型的载荷可能是拉伸、压缩、可弯曲,或者剪切,或这些情况的组合。这是一种非常经济实惠的过程,因为没有明显的材料损失就能获得预期的形状、大小、和结果。另外,可以通过应变硬化的方法把一部分输入能量充分的应用在提高产品强度上。
