Primary Frequency Regulation of Power Systems Considering Electric Vehicles
Abstract Large-scale connected to the grid of electric vehicles, the charging load will have an impact and challenges to the operation and control of the grid. Meanwhile, as a mobile storage unit, electric vehicles V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) control brings opportunities to the development of power system, can provide a variety of support services for the power grid, such as peak and valley filling, spinning reserve and frequency regulation. Particularly, because of electric cars have the ability to regulate and rapid response characteristics, frequency regulation services is regarded as the most promising and most likely to achieve the ancillary services.
First of all, introduced the application status of the impact of large-scale electric vehicle connected to the grid as well as domestic and international stage V2G technology. as well as the load characteristics of electric vehicles, including battery characteristics of electric vehicles, the operating rules and power supply mode, analyzing the feasibility of electric vehicles involved in grid frequency regulation.
Secondly, discuss the primary frequency regulation of power system, involving the analysis of generators properties, load characteristics of power system and the basic idea of primary frequency regulation. Meanwhile, introduce the regional power grid model, including generators-load model, the prime mover and speed control system, regional focal lines, electric vehicles V2G model and so on.
Finally, based on the analysis of primary frequency regulation of electric vehicles, elaborated the principle of electric vehicles primary frequency regulation, discussed the existing primary frequency regulation control strategy for electric vehicles, that autonomous distributed V2G control strategy, simulated and analyzed as well.
