Abstract: What is slang and why is it used Well, slang is not an easy topic to explain, but basically it is almost another language in its own. To put it simply, slang is the most informal version of English that is usually understood by people who live in a particular area. American slang is probably the most widely recognized due to extensive showing of American films throughout the world. This article’s intention is to introduce some popular American slang to help English learners to communicate with Americans more skillfully.
