当前,微型控制器因其广泛的应用领域和多种功能性,成为电气、电子以及相关领域技术人员所不可缺少的元器件。它可用在如下领域:行业自动化、移动电话、无线电、微波炉和录像机(VCRs)等方面。此外,目前数字电子技术的发展趋势受到集成了大量逻辑电路(如可编程逻辑元件及逻辑门电路阵列模块GALs)微控制器的限制。在专用系统中,微控制器是很好的选择,因为其价格便宜便于控制。

The microcontroller, nowadays, is an indispensable device for electrical / electronic engineers and also for technicians in the area, because of its versatility and its enormous application. Among the applications of a microcontroller we can mention industrial automation, mobile telephones, radios, microwave ovens and VCRs. Besides, the present trend in digital electronics is toward restricting to microcontrollers and chips that concentrate a great quantity of logical circuits, like PLDs (Programmable Logic Devices) and GALs (Gate Array Logic). In dedicated systems, the microcontroller is the best solution, because it is cheap and easy to manage.
A microprocessor is a general-purpose digital computer central processing unit. To make a complete microcomputer, you add memory (ROM and RAM) memory decoders, an oscillator, and a number of I/O devices. The prime use of a microprocessor is to read data, perform extensive calculations on that data, and store the results in a mass storage device or display the results. The design of the microcontroller is driven by the desire to make it as expandable and flexible as possible. It’s hard to imagine the present world of electronic tools and toys without the microprocessor. Yet this single-chip wonder has barely reached its 33rd birthday. In 1971 Intel Corporation introduced the 8080, the first successful microprocessor. Shortly thereafter, Motorola, RCA, and then MOS technology and Zilog introduced similar devices: 6800, 1801, 6502, and Z80, respectively. Alone these integrated circuits9 (ICs) were rather helpless ......
