ABSTRACT
Since the 1980s, the development of world economy and technology have towarded to globalization. The traditional physical work has beening substituted by mental work. As a result , the proportion of mentalworker became larger. The requirement on mental work would lead to the increase of mental work load. Thus, it is important to measure the mental work load of human.
The conception of mental work is nonfigurative, and the mental work is seldom repeatedly. Which make it is difficult to measure the mental work accurately.
In order to measure the mental work during design process, Based on the characteristics mentioned above, we proposed an experimental study model of axis CAD design mental work load oriented to designer, used a program to realize the measurement and estimation of mental work load.
Based on the experimental model, we carried a series studies. first, we divided the participants into several groups, then let them complete the design tasks independently, during design process, we collected some useful data. third ,we summarized and analysed the data by statistical method. Finally, we verified the reliability and validity of results .
